Thanks for the comment Clark...did not even know about the "miracle"...although I do know those lyrics. I think being 4 to 7 and just in awe of my surroundings...I missed along of the dynamics that were going on :)

Brenton,

Found your post. As for giving away free things you forgot the most important thing that was given away on most every night. "The Miracle." Deadheads would always go to the show without a ticket and hope someone would give them a ticket for free, thus the miracle.

"I need a miracle everyday..."

Good post. And you are not alone. My daughter is becoming a second generation Deadhead. We listen to XM23 all the time and she is a big fan of "Bertha' and "Fire On The Mountain."

Tell you mom to download free podcasts on iTunes of the Dead. Move them into a new playlist and burn them. Hours of fun stuff for which to listen.

Cheers,

Thanks alot for the comment Justin. I agree with you...the system cannot be fixed...it must be transformed. Fixing implies we're still working under the same paradyms that created the system in the first place, just adding some tweaks to make it better. Because of its breadth and scale the system would need to collapse in some way.

What I am talking about is more on a personal and interpersonal level. What if everyone thought of contribution before status...shifts would start to happen. It can't happen with just the work of one person or startup...but they can be a spark or catalyst for it.

Love the discussion...would love to discuss this again at some point :)

Great post! I absolutely agree with every point you had to make about how fraud and twisted our society is. I mostly focus on educational system and consumerism on my research, but I believe they are all related to each other. As an entrepreneur I understand how most startups focus on creating "hit" social platform contributing to wasting human resources. But to be honest, this whole problem is just too big of a scale that it is literally impossible to fix. Tradition and culture isn't something that can be changed over night with some brilliant idea. You can call me a coward or pessimist, but I don't think this problem can be solved solely by a startup or two. Give me a feed back, I would love to hear from you :D

Many people aren't as aware and brave as you are to take adversity head on...and design your own life in the face of circumstance...bravo my friend!! I love the addition of the right experiences...a book is just a book until you live it. I don't think it's about having a ah-ha moment...as those come rarely...but turn every experience into something of value to your own personal development.

Reading the right stuff is HUGE! Also, just being aware that you can change your life by "conscious endeavor". I had no idea that you could purposefully design your life until I got sick and started reading a ton of personal development books. That realization has led to many new empowering habits/breakthroughs.

Read the right stuff + Have the right experiences. Adversity, unfortunately, is the greatest teacher. Maybe there's a way to put people in situations, where they can get all of the positive aspects of going through a tough experience without actually going through that experience. Maybe it can be done.

Thanks,
Josh Lipovetsky
